# Convene a board

*Uploading the document, picking who reads it, and what happens while prep runs.*

Open **The Review Board** from the **Experiments** group in the left sidebar. The landing page carries the convene form, plus a list of every board you've already convened.

![The Review Board landing page: the title field, the document drop zone, the four counsel with Henry Reyes and Eden Roos already ticked, the bench, the Convene the board button, and the list of boards below.](https://pub-b341f5dd338c47ffa088178d54291c95.r2.dev/help-center/v2/review-board-convene.png)

## 1. Name it

Give the board a title. If you leave it blank, the file name becomes the title.

## 2. Add the document

Click the file field or drag a file onto it. The board accepts these file types and no others:

* `.pdf`
* `.docx` (Word)
* `.md` and `.markdown`
* `.txt`

One document per board. The file uploads straight from your browser to storage, and the board is created against it.

## 3. Choose your counsel

Tick the jurisdiction counsel you want. **Henry Reyes (TRAIGA)** and **Eden Roos (EU AI Act)** are ticked for you — untick them if they aren't relevant.

You don't choose Conrad or Ms. Morgan. The chair and the practitioner are seated on every board automatically.

Any panelists you've built yourself appear here too, under the bench.

## 4. Convene the board

Click **Convene the board**. You land on the board's own page.

## While prep runs

The board page will say something like:

![The board page while prep runs: the board title and a line reading Prep is still running, status reviewing.](https://pub-b341f5dd338c47ffa088178d54291c95.r2.dev/help-center/v2/review-board-prep-running.png)

This is normal, and it's the state you'll hit first. Behind that message, each reviewer is reading your document and writing a position on every issue the board raised. There's nothing to do but wait and refresh.

{% hint style="info" %}
The dossier and the meeting link appear at the same moment — when the board's status becomes **ready**. There is no partial view: a board that isn't ready shows the waiting message and nothing else.
{% endhint %}

## Coming back later

Every board you've convened is listed on the Review Board landing page. Boards are yours alone — nobody else can open one from that list. The only thing you can hand out is the meeting link.
