# Starting a practice drill

*The click path from a Cubelet into your first scored judgment session — and what to expect once you're in it.*

## Where a drill starts

Every judgment drill starts from inside a Cubelet you've opened — from the Catalog or a path in In Progress — not from the Room chooser.

### Open a Cubelet

Find it in the Catalog, or continue one from your learning path in In Progress, and open it. You land on its **WHAT** face by default.

### Find the APPLY action

Scroll below the content to the standalone button "06 · APPLY — Judgment simulator — test your reasoning — Start →". This is the sixth face — it's an action below the content, not a tab alongside WHAT/WHY/HOW/WHERE/WHEN.

### Select Start →

This launches a scored session — a War Room — built around a Case for that competency.

## What you see once you're in

The session opens with a brief on the fictional organization and a progress tracker with six stages: **Brief → Inquiry → Challenge → Judge → Re-form → Next**. A row of starter prompts gets you moving — things like "Start the scenario," "What's the rubric I'll be scored against?," or "What evidence do you need from me?"

Your first response can take around 40 seconds to fully appear. The session is generating a tailored scenario — there's no need to resend your message or refresh the page while you wait.

Once you respond, the other side of the conversation reacts in character, and a "🔍 Mirror — Reasoning Pattern Check" block reflects on how you reasoned, with a few suggested next moves. The stage tracker advances as the conversation progresses, so you always know where you are in the arc.

## A second, separate format

If you'd rather practice faster and lighter, the Room chooser also offers an **ISACA Practice Drill** — rapid-fire multiple-choice questions for one certification at a time, with a rationale after each answer.
