# Rooms & the command palette

*Two different things share a "⌘K" label in the UI — here's what each one actually opens.*

## The room button

Most Rooms open from one place: a button in the top-right of the header — a click, not a keyboard shortcut. Its label changes with the page: "◎ Coaching Room ⌘K" on most pages, "⚡ Scaffold Room ⌘K" on Home. Despite the trailing "⌘K" text, pressing ⌘K does not open this — you have to click it.

Click it and a modal opens, headed "Room" — "Choose a session type."

One exception: a judgment drill opens directly from a Cubelet's **APPLY** action, straight into a **War Room** — it skips this button. See **Starting a practice drill**.

## What the Room chooser offers

A **Suggested** card leads with the **Coaching Room**. Below it, **All Rooms** lists every room you can open:

* **Coaching Room** — one-on-one help with any concept.
* **Seminar Room** — an instructor presents, a skeptical persona challenges, you observe and interject.
* **War Room** — a scored simulation against a fictional organization; where a judgment drill plays out.
* **Lab Room** — work a real case with coaching support, plus an optional Assessor.
* **Debrief Room** — a quiet read of where you stand; the coach narrates.
* **Scaffold Room** — explore your role formation and development gaps.
* **ISACA Practice Drill** — rapid-fire multiple-choice practice for one certification (CISA, CISM, or CRISC) at a time.

**Voice is also in the dock.** On any cubelet page, tap the Voice tab in the Workspace dock to start a voice session with Conrad and Ms. Morgan — no need to go through the Rooms button. See Voice tab.

**Reviewing your own document is not a Room.** Rooms practise you against a fictional organization. To put a real document of yours in front of a panel of reviewers, use [The Review Board](/the-review-board.md) — it has its own entry in the left sidebar, under **Experiments**.

## Inside the Coaching Room

Select **Coaching Room** and it opens as a drawer on the right — your page stays open underneath. Starter chips get you going: "What should I work on next?", "Why does this cubelet matter?", "Quiz me on what I just read." You'll also see a standard disclaimer: "AI can make mistakes. Please verify important information."

## What ⌘K actually opens

Pressing **⌘K** (or **Ctrl+K** on Windows) opens a different, general-purpose command palette — a "Search commands…" box, not the Room chooser. Typing "room" into it won't find you a Room.
